MUKABUKU!

Mukabuku has come to an end. It was one of the best productions I’ve ever done. 5 weeks of crazy rehearsals, tech and bump in. I love everyone involved in Mukabuku. Here goes:

Kelvin:

Oh daddy poor daddy (Nabihan style), you had to direct a bunch of looneys! Thank you so much for everything. It’s great to work with you after 2 years (since I wasn’t good enough when I auditioned: P ) Thanks for what you did with ‘Funeral’. I was confused at first and now I totally understand why you did what you did. It stirred up so many emotions and I loved it. Thanks for the warm ups and the games. Thanks for Mukabuku! And yes, the ® is YOURS!

Farahrani:

Frani!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE working with you. You’re such a brilliant actor and I love you so much despite the wardrobe malfunction and singing “one-one two one” off key!!! You are gorgeous and should wear more dresses! We’ll always be Mable and Tini. I love you farahrani!

Nurnur:

I quote Rod: “YOU’RE JUST PLAIN CRAZY!” I totally enjoyed working with you. Wish you came into rehearsals sooner though. Thank you for ugly underwear shopping, pan mee, make up, peacock jokes and back cracking. You will always be my back cracker! Thanks for all the advice. Because of you, I will now learn to knock doors before entering! Muahaha! Hope you’re having fun in India. Lunch as soon as you’re back!

McCartney:

You are a genius! I had terrible amounts of fun with you. I’m so glad you laugh out loud like I do. Makes me feel less stupid! You’re my favourite person to do stretches with (even though I got rejected the last day!) We will shop more. I will never stop with Charleyy! Next time you drink from a straw, you’ll think of me. You are such an amazing woman! You will forever be my McCartney Cartney! Okay, you can stop crying now! :P

LohLoh:

Sometimes you’re bodoh but I love you and you know it. Thanks for the talk outside Caltex. If it weren’t for you, I don’t think I would have as much faith. Thanks for being a good corpse and not wincing even though I elbowed you only fifteen million times. Thanks for letting me push you down! We’ll do more lunches!

Yujval:

I don’t apologize for Yujval. I think it has a nicer ring to it! You were an easy victim! You are so cool, especially with the Barney accent! And I promise I’ll listen the next time you tell me bout your ancestors and Europe! God promise. We shall Bhangra soon! Singh is King!

Ivan:

You’re my baby! Thanks for being patient when I just couldn’t do the back warm up with you because you’re so tall! I would love to work with you in more productions since we didn’t really do a piece together in Mukabuku. Hope you get into acting school, you’ll do great! You are too cute. Love you Ivan!

Mike:

I worked with you in 2 pieces! You were fun to work with even though I wanted to kill you each time for leaving your ciggie prop on stage! I had fun jamming in your house that time. Even though all I had was the chicken shake! Thanks Mike.

Mark, Nan, Alex:

Thank you for writing all those plays. Loved each and every one of them. Alex, I hope you’re damn proud of me for not messing up my monologue and actually managing to memorize it! :D
